Mobile Engineering

Apps people keep on the first screen

Shipping to the store is the easy part. We build mobile products that survive real conditions — patchy connectivity, background restrictions, device fragmentation, OS upgrades and app-store policy changes — with offline-first data and release engineering that makes updates routine.

Overview

One codebase where it helps, native where it counts

Flutter and React Native deliver excellent results for the majority of business applications and roughly halve the cost of maintaining two platforms. Native Swift or Kotlin remains the right answer for heavy graphics, deep hardware access, sustained background processing or platform-defining UX.

We make that call in discovery with your requirements in front of us, and we say so plainly if a cross-platform framework will fight you.

Every app ships with offline-first synchronisation, secure credential storage, crash and performance telemetry, feature flags, staged rollout and an automated release pipeline to both stores.

01

Offline-first data

Local persistence with conflict-resolution rules and background sync, so the app works in a lift or a warehouse.

02

Secure on device

Keychain and Keystore storage, certificate pinning, biometric auth, jailbreak detection and no secrets in the bundle.

03

Release engineering

Automated builds, signing, store submission, phased rollout and over-the-air updates where policy permits.

04

Measured in the wild

Crash-free rate, cold-start time, ANR rate and funnel analytics reviewed against targets every release.

What we build

Capabilities you get on day one

The components below are engineered patterns we have shipped repeatedly — not concepts we would be exploring for the first time on your project.

Design that respects the platform

Material and Human Interface conventions honoured, with a shared design system so the brand stays coherent.

Sync engine

Queued mutations, deterministic conflict resolution, delta sync and transparent retry when connectivity returns.

Mobile security

Secure storage, pinned TLS, obfuscation, tamper detection and OWASP MASVS-aligned assessment before release.

Startup performance

Cold-start budgets, lazy module loading, image pipeline tuning and jank profiling on low-end devices.

Backend for mobile

Purpose-built APIs with pagination, batching and versioning, plus push infrastructure and remote configuration.

Product analytics

Funnels, retention cohorts, feature-flag experiments and store review sentiment feeding the roadmap.

One Flutter or React Native codebase versus two native teams, for suitable application classes.

↑ 38%

Higher field productivity

Offline data capture removes the evening re-entry shift for engineers and inspectors.

How we deliver

How a mobile app development engagement runs

Six stages, each with a defined output. You can stop after any one of them and still hold something useful.

  1. Product definition

Job stories, platform decision, device and OS support matrix, and a release strategy with success metrics.

  2. UX prototype

Interactive prototype tested on real devices with target users before engineering commits.

  3. Foundation sprint

Navigation, design system, auth, offline store, telemetry, CI pipeline and store scaffolding.

  4. Feature delivery

Two-week increments distributed to TestFlight and internal tracks with automated regression suites.

  5. Hardening & submission

Device-lab testing, security assessment, accessibility pass, store assets and review-guideline compliance.

  6. Post-launch

Staged rollout monitoring, crash triage SLA, OS upgrade readiness and iterative feature releases.

FAQs

Mobile App Development — frequently asked

Flutter, React Native or native — how do we choose?

React Native suits teams with strong React skills and heavy web code sharing. Flutter gives the most consistent cross-platform UI and excellent performance for complex custom interfaces. Native wins for graphics-intensive apps, deep hardware or background integration, and where being first to adopt new OS features matters. We evaluate against your specific feature list, team skills and five-year maintenance cost.

Can you rescue an app that is already in trouble?

Yes. We start with an audit — crash analytics, architecture review, dependency health, store policy compliance and performance profiling — then stabilise the worst issues before restructuring. Sometimes the honest recommendation is a staged rewrite; we will show you the cost comparison either way.

Who owns the developer accounts and store listings?

You do, always. Apps are published under your Apple Developer and Google Play accounts with your certificates. We work as authorised collaborators. Signing keys are stored in your secret manager, not ours.

How do you handle app store rejections?

By avoiding them. Guideline review is part of our definition of done — privacy manifests, data-use declarations, permission justification, account deletion, subscription rules and content policy are checked pre-submission. When a rejection does occur we handle the appeal and resubmission within the support agreement.

Do you support the app after launch?

Yes. Maintenance agreements cover crash triage with severity-based response, annual iOS and Android upgrade readiness, dependency and security patching, store compliance changes, and a monthly allocation for enhancements.
